Description
Connection Makes a Difference, electrically conductive paint, canvas, 100 leds, magnets, 2019
The installation was intended as a means of encouraging donations during a charitable event for the purpouse of providing scholarships for children and younge people who otherwise won’t have the opportunity to pursie artistic excellence. The idea of the piece was to emphasize that by connecting, physically making an effort, one could create a difference in the world—bring a little bit of extra joy in a child’s life through art. A battery at the back of the canvas was connected to multiple circuits flowing to the sides and the front of the painting by means of electrically conductive paint and copper wire. The circuits would be open until a connection is made through the light buttons as they are placed onto the canvas by participants.
